What's in your pocket?

I had never heard of a "Pocket Park" until this tiny snippet of vacant land on Main Street was put to whole new use.  A bite-sized park was created right in the middle of town.  It sometimes plays host to small outdoor music gatherings, but mostly it is a spot to sit and take it all in.   

Buffet in the Bathroom

After weeks of searching the area on-line classifieds, I had finally found it!  The perfect buffet to convert into a bathroom cabinet.  It was the right dimensions and had all the storage we would need. I grabbed the address and hustled out the door.  


 

Chocolate Dipped Waffle Cones

Almost everything in life can be made better if you add a few sprinkles.  Waffle cones are no exception.  I really love these brightly colored cones but I'm not a big fan of the price they charge at ice cream stores.  

 

From Me to You

We interrupt this blog for an important announcement!  Normally I talk about something that is happening around town on Fridays but today I've got something else on my mind.

It's been just three months since I began on a journey I had dreamed about for a long time and started this blog.  There have been many ups maybe a few downs but along the way there has been you, the wonderful people who visit here and share a bit of your day with me.  

Extreme Window Installation

This is one for the guys. Especially the guys at the window company where my husband works. Yup, I know who you are and I think it's very manly that you check out my blog once in a while.  So this will be a man style post just for you. No cutesy word plays, no styled artsy photos (well maybe just a couple).....and I'll be limiting myself to just one exclamation point! (That wasn't it, I was just giving you an example of how an exclamation point is used.)  There will be power tools, dust and a certain element of danger and destruction.

Friday is my favorite blog day!  It's the day I have set aside to show you around our small town and introduce you to  some of the people  that really make this place tick.  Teena is a real mover and shaker around here.  I met her while taking some photos of her milk barn last week.  But this little collection in her yard really sent me flying.

I absolutely promised myself that I would not post another picture of my front porch until it was done...done!  But there is something I've just got to share with you.  These gaping holes with wires hanging out of them are a down right safety hazard!

I drive past this unassuming milk barn all the time but I've had a sneaking suspicion something was up with this place.

Heavenly Help for Rural Patients

Living way out in the country has so many advantages.  But having easy access to cutting edge medical treatment isn't one of them. I sincerely hope that you and yours will never need the kind of angel I'm about to describe to you.  But you may know of someone in your community who is in need of specialized medical care. Getting to a far away hospital can be a real challenge.   If you could just find a real life angel with wings to fly  you where you needed to be, it would be a miracle...or would it?

Antique of an Antique Shop

A few Saturdays ago my daughter and I wandered into the next town over in search of this old antique shop we had heard of.  We found it pretty easy,(the town has about 3 streets).  We imagined this old barn holding all the treasures of antiquity!
